- Color: Black;
- Filament diameter: 1.75mm.Tolerance ±0.05mm;
- Filament length: 600m & 333m;
- Net weight: 1.81kg (4Lbs) & 1.00kg (2.2Lbs);
- Spool size: 210mm diameter x 86mm & 60mm width; Center hole: 52mm diameter;
Filament made from Ingeo 3D850, which is a grade developed by the American company NatureWorks - the world leader in the development and production of PLA. This grade of PLA has been developed specifically for manufacturing 3D printer filament.
This grade exhibits faster crystallization rates and is able to develop improved heat-resistance in 3D printed parts and to enhance their toughness. This material has a heat distortion temperature of 80-90°C (compared to 50°C in case of regular PLA).
- Bed temperature 60±5°C;
- Nozzle temperature 210±5°C;
- It sticks well on a variety of build plates (PEI, glass, tape, etc.); We recommend using water soluble glue;
- Print speed: 40 - 100 mm/s (depending on your hot end melting capability and nozzle orifice size)
- Like most 3D printing materials, this one is hygroscopic, (i.e. it absorbs water from its surroundings). For better printing results, when storing, use the included bag and desiccant to keep the material as dry as possible.
Note: Prusa MK3S standard printers have a design feature in the heat-break component which might cause material flow blockages in the extruder when printing with semi-crystalline materials (such as our PLA 3D850); There are a few ways to resolve this problem and take advantage of these improved materials developed for higher performance - see our guide on Replitech website. If you don't need the thermal characteristics and improved toughness of these better materials, you can use the classic PLA (4043D) which has a more amorphous structure and is not affected in the same degree by that Prusa design feature.
